Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar will inaugurate Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) helpline book’s English version and CD on Sunday.
The helpline ‘Sarathi’ - a system of assisting residents and tourists through information — was introduced on August 15, 2013.
The helpline centre is set up at the old general body meeting hall at the PCMC headquarters situated at Pimpri Chowk. It functions between 7 am and 10 pm and provides information about civic departments, their functioning, civic services and emergencies like a pipeline leakage or drainage.
According to the civic body, post the launch, over 1 lakh citizens have availed of the helpline service with 53,000 website users and 25,000 telephone service users through the helpline 8888006666. The e-book and PDF services were used by over 18,000 citizens in the area. The helpline has also solved about 95% of cases that was received.puneinbox@dnaindia.net
