Many city schools have recorded 100 % results for the Std X exam of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared on Sunday.

School principals said the results took them by surprise as there was no formal announcement by the board. They said the CBSE has done away with the merit list, besides introducing school-based examinations to keep students stress-free. This sudden release of the result too aimed at impeding the anxiety surrounding the results, they said.

Sankalp Gaur of DAV Public School topped in the city with 98.4%, while Shivali Pande of Delhi Public School (DPS) and Pranav Kulkarni of Jnana Prabodhini tied-up at second position with 98.2 %, said Jnana Prabodhini principal Milind Naik.
