A group of around 100 youngsters organised a Right to Love rally on Thursday raising slogans like 'Mazha sneha, mazha haq’, or 'We want the right to love’. The protest march, which began from Goodluck Chowk, on JM Road, was held to express solidarity with a Latur-based couple, who were brutally beaten up by a group of locals few days back.

Abhishek Bhosale, 24, a student of journalism from Ranade Institute, said, "With this rally, we hope to encourage people to fight for their right to love. If there is an Article 21 to safeguard the right to live and right to liberty and Article 19 stands for the right to free expression in our constitution, then why can’t we have the right to choose who we love and how we love? We are not against any religious belief or morals; we are against people who infringe on our constitutional rights.”

People of all ages too part in the protest march demanding freedom from moral policing. The protesters recounted the incidents when they were intimidated by unknown people on various occasions. Apart from students, many social activists also used the platform to fight for the freedom of their constitutional rights.
