Rich tribute paid to 26/11 martyrs

Citizens on Monday paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai. Various organisations had organised special programmes to commemorate the martyrs of the terror attack. At Congress Bhavan, a lantern was lit in front of a garlanded flex board having photographs of martyrs.
Secretary of Rashtriya Mazdoor Sangh Mahendra Garood, said, “The problem of terrorism has not been permanently solved by hanging Kasab. The government must find the  masterminds of the terror attacks and adopt a serious approach about tackling terrorism.” MLA Abhay Chhajed said, “Kasab’s hanging is a message to terrorists that they will not get away by attacking the country.”
At Shaniwarwada, activists of both Aam Aadmi Party and Dalit Panthers of India had lit candles in the memory of the martyrs. Akshay Pisal, a BTech student, said, “It is shameful that we kept Kasab alive for so long. The police must be given freedom and the equipment they need if the government is serious about tackling terrorism.”Policemen attached to the Pune police commissionerate had organised programmes at all police stations in the city to pay homage to the martyrs.
Police commissioner Gulabrao Pol and other top police officers paid homage to the martyrs at a function organised at the police headquarters in Shivajinagar in the evening.
