Pune: As FIFA World Cup season has begun and men at work are worried about catching up on their favourite teams while working night shifts in companies, managers across companies are going the extra length to ensure that their employees don’t miss their favourite matches while at work.
Coming up with innovative ways on how to keep employees engaged, while some companies are allowing people to swap night shifts with colleagues, others have put up screens. There are others which are organising nightouts for matches.
At Cybage, human resource head Elston Pimanta said that screens have been set up for the employees at both office complexes. “Though we won’t be giving special leaves to employees, but those wishing to catch the matches can view it on the screens that we have set up. Besides this, a few employees wished to swap shifts on important match days and we have left it to the managers. If they are able to manage work, we have no issues.”
A technology consultant with another IT Company Convertex, Rohit Khirpate said that a voting had taken place to decide which matches would be screened in office. “Since most votes were in favour of Brazil matches, it was finally decided that those matches will be put on through Internet streaming. Even snacks will be provided.”
For employees of Intelliment Technologies, there is going to be a FIFA
special treat awaiting. Managing Director, Intelliment Technologies, Prashant Pansare said that he would be taking employees out for a live screening where treats would be on the house. “It is a good team building exercise where people come together to celebrate their passion for the sport. Here, we get to unwind together and not talk about business or numbers.”
