Puneites,beware of what you eat!

Pune: Consuming food products like packaged milk shakes and drinking water, milk powder, and mithai decorated with edible silver foil may harm your health. Watch out for adulterants like non-permitted food colors, mineral oils and sweeteners which may be used in such foods.
The FDA in Pune found adulterants in as many as 131 types of foods which have been declared unsafe for consumption. Out of the 1996 food products it tested, 380 types of foods did not match FDA standards.
Mithaiwalas claiming to use edible silver foil could be using aluminum foil instead, as the FDA found with some samples. Packaged drinking water was tested and fungal growth was found on the insides of the bottles.
