Pune lad wins bronze medal in IMO

Anish Prasad Sevekari had scored 93% in SSC

Abasaheb Garware College’s science student Anish Prasad Sevekari won the bronze medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) held at Santa Marta in Colombia recently. He participated in the event after winning the national Olympiad.

Speaking to dna, Sushma, Anish’s mother, said, “It is a  happy moment for us. We will decide about celebrating the victory only after his return. I am yet to talk to him. We were expecting the gold medal.”

Anish studied at Navin Marathi School student from standard I to IV before joining Golwalkar Guruji Vidyamandir and scored 93% in SSC (standard X).

According to Sushma, Anish took guidance from M Prakash Academy and was a student at Bhaskaracharya Pratishtan while preparing for the Olympiads.

The bright student’s parents, Prasad and Sushma, run a concrete block making business.

The team
Homi Bhabha Centre For Science Education of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) had selected six members to represent India for the 54th IMO.
