When you want to buy a new car you have a plethora of information available online, in books and magazines, and of course through people around. But when it comes to buying a second hand car you have do all the checks yourself and rely on whatever the previous owner says. Saving you from this blind reliance are Pune’s Deepak Thomas and Sagar Apte.

The duo started CarScore, where they empower the buyers of used car with information to help make the right purchase. “We are a team of experts who specialise in helping you make the right decision when buying a used car,” Deepak says.

Thomas is among the several entrepreneurs who presented their innovations at the first Indian software product event organised by the Indian Software Products Industry Roundtable (iSPIRT). It has been designed to help entrepreneurs achieve exponential growth in a boot camp format. It is designed as an exclusive event for product companies who have serious growth ambitions.

Another interesting concept shared by Sarang Lakhare, a COEP alumnus, was an app called ‘In Touch’. The app helps you restore contacts in any possible operating system and also access other phonebooks within the app. Lakhare said, \”The idea came up from the fact that we no longer have directories and no platform to find contact details if ever lost. With this app, you will never lose your data even after you delete a number.\”

Commenting on the boot camp, Kailash Katkar, founders circle, iSPIRT and CEO of QuickHeal, said, “This bootcamp has been designed by software product people, for software entrepreneurs, somewhat like the open source movement where participants are contributors and everyone gains in the ecosystem. The problems that will be brought to the table and discussed are therefore real ones which can only be addressed through collective discussion.”

Dr Anand Deshpande, founder & CEO – Persistent Systems, added, \”The Product Nation Camp is one of the several initiatives undertaken by iSPIRT to build a strong products ecosystem in India. It is not a conference format, but a platform to share information in a closed intimate group.\”

Other entrepreneurs at the event were Manjunath Gowda, CEO i7networks, which introduced ‘peregrine 7’ that plugs in the security hole of mobile devices thus catching hold of affected devices

at the entry level. Dhanyal Gopi presented SlashMatrix, an easy to use platform to search and compare different IT solutions and vendors to help them take the right decision.
