Pune based Manager’s sim hacked, loses 6 lakh

Pune: In a shocking incident, a manager of a private company was duped to the tune of Rs 6.26 lakh, after his mobile phone was hacked and the hacker transfer the funds through online account. 

The manager had gone to United States for some official work on May 20. When he returned to India on June 8 he realized that his sim card was blocked. Following which he got a new sim card and he was shocked when he received the message that Rs 6.26 lakh was transferred online from his account.
Senior police Inspector (Crime) of Kondhwa police station, Sudama Pochorkar said, “While the manager had gone to US his sim card was hacked. As the account details was linked with the bank account the hacker called the bank and asked to change the online account password.” 

Pochorkar added, “After taking the details the hackers transferred the funds with the help of the mobile phone therefore it will take some time to trace the hackers. We will be checking the call records and try to trace the hacker.”
