Blaming marriage hall operators for the vehicles parked on the roads by marriage hall visitors, the Pune traffic police have lodged complaints against four marriage hall operators in Kothrud police station for causing danger or obstruction in public way or line of navigation.

The four halls -- Krushna Sundar Garden, Krushna Sundar lawns, Srushti Garden and Siddhi Garden -- are situated on DP Road near Mhatre Bridge. The complaint has been lodged under section 283 of the Indian Penal Code.

dna had published a report on November 27 about local residents holding meeting with the deputy commissioner of police (traffic) and local police to raise the problems faced by them due to the marriage hall visitors parking their vehicles on roads as well as the disturbance caused by loud music.

Based on the complaints, the Pune traffic police on Saturday took action against the owners of five four-wheelers and 31 two-wheelers which were parked outside these marriage halls in no parking zones and collected Rs6,400 as compounding fees. Along with that action, the traffic police also lodged police complaint at the Kothrud police station against operators of these four marriage halls. According to traffic police, the area for parking shown in the map submitted to PMC is not being used for parking purpose, instead the vehicles are parked on public road.
