Pune: While the NCP has announced not fielding any candidate against Munde family member for Parali Lok Sabha seat, Maharashtra Minister for Cooperation and Congress leader Harshawardhan Patil today insisted that MLA Pankaja Munde-Palave should work at Maharashtra level retaher than moving to Delhi.
He was speaking at the all-party condolence meeting organized by BJP at Balgandharv Rang Mandir. NCP President Sharad Pawar had announced during the condolence meeting in Mumbai on Saturday that NCP would not field any candidate against Munde family member for the Lok Sabha seat after demise of Gopinath Munde.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, state BJP President Devendra Fadanavis, leader of the opposition in state legislative council Vinod Tavde also paid their tribute to Munde during the condolence meting. City Mayor Chanchala Kodre, NCP Spokesperson Ankush Kakade, RPI President and Rajya Sabha MP Ramdas Athavale, Lok Sabha MP Anil Shirole were also present on the dais.
Patil said that Gopinath Munde has uncomparable contribution to the state of Maharashtra and Munde family should work for progress of Maharashtra. He said that Pankaja Munde-Palave should confine to Maharashtra since the state needs leaders like her in state rather than choosing Center for her career. Fadanavis said that Gopinath Munde was instrumental in taking BJP to masses and it was impossible that another Gopinath Munde will ever come to the fore.
