The state government has rejected the proposal moved by the Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA) to regularise 15,029 illegal structures in Nigdi, Bhosari, Wakad, Thergaon, Rahatani and Chikhali.

PCNTDA official spokesperson said, “Now that the government has disapproved the proposal, these houses will be demolished soon.”

PCNTDA had sent the proposal to the state government to regularise these houses on December 28, 2011. These structures have been constructed on the reserved lands of PCNTDA.

“The proposal to regularise these houses was pending with the state government for the last 15 months. However, it has now informed the PCNTDA officials that these illegal structures will not be regularised at any cost,” he said.

The state government’s planning department officer Uday Singh Chauhan has sent a letter to PCNTDA chief executive officer Yogesh Mhase in this regard.
