Online admissions a relief from queues

Pune: After the class XII results were declared on Monday, students can breathe easy as they will not have to stand in long queues for admission process as most of the colleges have opted for online processes. Students will be getting their marksheets on June 10 and the admission process is set to start from June 11. 
While speaking to dna, the Principal of Sir Parshuram Bhau College, Dr Padmaja Ghorpade said that their admission process will start after June 10 once students get their marksheets. 
“In order to avoid confusion and to make the entire process transparent, we will follow online process in which students can fill the admission form which will be available on the college website. After taking a print out, he or she can submit it in the college along with other documents like marksheets, domicile and other required credentials,” she said, adding that once the forms are received, the college scrutinize the papers and decide admissions on merit basis. 
Dr Ravindrasinh Pardeshi, the Principal of the Fergusson College said the process of admission will start after June 11 and admissions will be given to the students on the basis of merit. “There will be no entrance test for the majority of the subjects as the merit will be the sole criteria for the admissions.”
