Pune: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on Sunday said that the NCP was not putting any pressure on the Congress for change of Guards and shunting Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.

Pawar was speaking to media persons after giving away the Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar memorial award to Late Narendra Dabholkar during a programme organised by Pune Municipal Corporation. Pawar said that the news reports about the NCP working towards change of guards in the state were not true. He said that there is no pressure whatsoever from the NCP on Congress in this regard. He said that it is a question of Congress leadership as to who should be their Chief Minister and NCP has got nothing to do with it. When asked as to whether he would like to work with former Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde as the Chief Minister of the state, Ajit Pawar said, “I have worked with him before and when we are part of an alliance government we should be ready to work with any leader as chief minister. ”
