Cyber fraudster Adams Zuma, who was arrested in the city by the Cyber Crime Cell (CCC) of Pune Police, had allegedly created an identity by submitting fake documents. He had changed his nationality and told police that he was a resident of South Africa.

The CCC officials have claimed that Zuma was a prominent member of international rackets and might have been involved in as many as 30 cyber crime cheating cases in the country. CCC officials managed to arrest Zuma after getting a tip-off from an alert citizen Devashish Ramchandra Padi (36), who hails from Orissa and is lives in Koregaon Park area of the city.

A man named Zaffery had approached him saying he was interested in investing his business. “But Padi verified his phone numbers on the web and found several posts saying the users of these numbers have cheated them. Padi then approached us.” and we laid a trap to nab Zuma,” senior police inspector SM Babar of CCC said.
