Pune: Expressing confidence of his victory, Shirur MP Shivajirao Adhalrao-Patil on Monday said that all the NCP MLAs in Shirur constituency want to grab the farmers’ land under the garb of various projects.
Adhalrao-Patil filed his nomination form for the Shirur Lok Sabha seat by arriving in a bullock-cart. He was accompanied by Dr Amol Kolhe who became a household name after playing the character of Chhatrapati Shivaji in the mega-serial ‘Raja Shiv Chhatrapati’ .
Earlier, Adhalrao-Patil launched his election campaign by seeking the blessings of Bhosari village deity Bhairavnath Maharaj.
Pointing out various projects including the airport and Dow plant, Adhalrao-Patil said that the NCP leaders are not in the interest of local farmers when it comes to leading the farmer agitations. He alleged that NCP MLAs want to grab the lands in the name of projects and that was the reason he led the farmers’ agitations.
Kolhe said that he did not join the Shiv Sena for his own interest but because it was a party with the five-point agenda of Shiv Chhatrapati. He said that leadership with a vision, welfare state and people-oriented administration are reflected in the party’s functioning.
