Nature walk attracts visitors at the heritage festival in Pune

The second day of Virasat Pune Heritage Festival began with a wonderful tree walk by Nature Walk Outdoors at Alice Garden at University of Pune. It was not just a tree walk but the participants were enthralled with interesting information of insects, birds, spiders, flowers, bamboos, and seeds as well.
Pallavi D and Ashwin Warudkar from Nature Walk Outdoors briefed the visitors about the identification of trees, their scientific and local names, seed collection, and showed them different kinds of climbers. Hardly anybody knows about the dense forest like garden behind the open canteen of University of Pune. The participants got an opportunity of observing birds like parrots and grey hornbill in the garden. Spider-nest at the tree root, nest morphology were among the interesting highlights of the walk.

Day 3 attractions:
-‘INTACH Heritage Shopping Walk’ at Shaniwar wada (10 am - 12.30 pm)
-Handicraft Workshop’ at Vishrambaug Wada (9 am - 11 pm)
-‘Discover Botanical Survey of India’, a campus tour & herbarium workshop (11 am - 1 pm)
-‘Shaniwar Wada & Lal Mahal Walk’ (4.30 pm - 6 pm)
-‘INTACH Warsaa: Ajanta Tales’ at P N Gadgil and Sons, Aundh (4 pm - 7 pm)
-Traditional Martial Arts Demonstration at Vishrambaug Wada (6 pm - 8 pm)
