Considering the use of modern aircrafts for training of air force cadets at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in future, the academy has given a proposal to the headquarters regarding the extension of its runway

The existing runway is of 3,000 feet and NDA wants to extend it by 2,000 feet so that bigger aircraft can be operated at the academy. The NDA has also given a proposal for more Super Dimona aircraft.

An official of the Air Force Training team at NDA said, “Presently, we are using Super Dimona aircraft to train the cadets. Super Dimona is a two-seater aircraft which is light in weight and does not require big runway. However, NDA will be using advanced and bigger aircraft to train the cadets for which longer runway is required.”

He added, “We will be adding another five Super Dimona aircraft by August. Besides, we will be coming up with one additional hanger at the training center.”
