For the past 18 years, Manjeet Singh Virdi has been closely associated with events organised for the underprivileged and deprived children through his foundation MSV. This festive season he decided to make HIV positive kids feel special by organising a screening of Krish 3 at Inox, Bund Garden on Wednesday.

“We do not accept funds or donations to conduct such activities. My family owns a store on the East Street and we use a percentage of our income to help the needy,” says Manjeet Singh, who runs the foundation with the help of his sister and brother-in-law.

The 580 kids were welcomed at the theatre and were entertained for three hours. Manjeet’s son also dressed up as the character of the film and interacted with the kids.

“I was the only son to my parents and always had the privilege of watching movies and spending time out. But there are many kids out there who are deprived of basic necessities. Through such ventures we try and give them an experience of what malls or theatres are,” he said.

The kids were also treated to snacks and gifts as they enjoyed the film. Children from 16 organisations were present at the event.
