MSEDCL suspends assistant accountant for negligence

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has suspended the assistant accountant and issued notice to the deputy executive engineer of Hadapsar sub division stating that one third of his salary will be deducted for the coming month.

The notice was issued on Thursday after the company found that the assistant accountant failed to update the information of the new meter of an educational institute in the server. Due to which a payment of Rs6.82 lakh, from July 2008 till November 2013, was pending. MSEDCL public relations officer Nishikant Raut said, “As the assistant accountant Tanaji Kamte and  deputy executive engineer Murlidhar Yeplale had failed to update the information on the server hence we had to take this action.”

Raut added, “We have also lodged a first investigation report against the third party who were responsible to enter the details.”
