Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will visit Pune on October 30 to inaugurate the new Deenanath Mangeshkar Super Speciality Hospital. The old Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital building was inaugurated by former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

Since the new facility is adjacent to the old hospital in the Erandavane area, there is no adequate space for organising public function there. Hence the inauguraal function would be held at the Garware College Ground on Karve Road. Lata Mangeshkar, who has got this hospital built in memory of her father Late Deenanath Mangeshkar, and noted flautist Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia will be present for the inauguration.

It has a 600-bed capacity with various super specialities such as nuclear medicine centre, bone marrow transplant facility, kidney and liver transplant facility, oncology centre with stem cell treatment, cath lab, joint replacement centre, plastic surgery, spine surgery and a 60-bed infant section.
