MNS Corporator complains of duplication of 62688 names

An MNS Corporator in the city has pointed out that there are 62688 names from Vadagaon Sheri assembly constituency which are repeated in voters lists for a few other constituencies. He has demanded immediate deletion of names of all these voters for free and fair assembly polls.

Sunil Tingare the Corporator has pointed out that these names are figuring in the Vadagaon Sheri constituency and also figure in the voter's list of Ambegaon, Khed, Shirur, Shivaji Nagar, Hadapsar and Parner. He cited some specific examples of a few relatives of sitting NCP MLA Bapu Pathare and demanded that wherever there are names of the voters in two or more different constituencies, the returning officer should delete names from all the lists excepting from one list. He said that it was not possible for him to find out all the names and make separate complains about all the 62688 names, he was submitting the CD of all these names to district collector Saurabh Rao.

Interestingly, he pointed out that he has written the letter to district collector's ofice through election branch on October 14, 2013. He said that he has written on several occasions after this letter and demanded that if there is no action on the part of district election branch by July 25, 2014, he would move Court.
