Malin gets mobile network, power

Pune: Mobile phone connectivity in Malin village was restored as Vodafone stationed a mobile tower van about 2 km from the village.

Vodafone officials maintained that in their endeavor to support the relief and rehabilitation work in Malin, Ambegaon, Vodafone India has undertaken several initiatives to provide assistance to those who are affected by the unprecedented disaster.

The company installed Insta Network at two sites in the landslide impacted area to enable mobile communication with the aim of assisting authorities in coordinating relief work better, provide charging facility for mobile phones and help disseminate information. Two portable sites will be further installed at Rajewadi and Kandhare to support network at the location.

Meanwhile, power supply to Malin village which was disrupted following the disaster, was restored the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) by 12 noon on Saturday. Six electricity supplying poles were erected in the village and power supply was also restored at the lone village school. Twenty five electric poles carrying the one and half kilometer long three phase power supply lines were damaged in the landslide.
