The team of Pune police investigating the Lonavla booze party bust is an exasperated lot. The four Mumbai-based persons arrested in the late night celebrations have been providing fake identities to mislead the police.

In a late night swoop on the booze party at a farmhouse at Aapti Gevndi village near Pawananagar on Wednesday, the rural police had arrested 35 people, including four organisers and 12 former bar dancers.

The arrested persons who had organised the party have been identified as car business owner Chetan Shah (30), Sameer Shaikh (32), Vicky Baksani (35) and Sarfaraz Ansari (38) of Mumbai. The arrested will be in police custody till August 3. Mumbai-based businessman Goldy Chopra, the owner of the land where the party was organised, is missing.

Superintendent of police Manoj Kumar Lohiya said, “The arrested persons, including the four party organisers, are misguiding us regarding their identity. They are not revealing their names due to which we are facing problems. We have informed the Wadgaon Maval court’s judicial magistrate (first class) to check their original identity cards prior to granting bail to the 30 people who have been arrested.”

Inspector Santosh Patil who raided the party said, “The four organisers are friends and most of them are from real estate business.”

“To shower money on the bar girls, they gave patrons coupons ranging from Rs50 to Rs1,000. We have recovered foreign and Indian countrymade liquors estimated to be worth Rs24 lakh and also some used and unused condom packets. All of the arrested people have undergone medical treatments after which we will be able to reveal the details. Our team is trying to arrest Chopra in Mumbai,” he said.
