Pune: Congress-NCP Lok Sabha candidate from Pune Vishwajeet Kadam, on Thursday, assured that he would follow up the issue of Ghorpadi railway over-bridge with defence ministry to fulfill the aspirations of the residents in Ghorpadi and Cantonment areas. He made this assurance during his ‘padyatra-cum-jeepyatra’ in Ghorpadi areas of Cantonment assembly segment. He was accompanied by leaders like MLA Ramesh Bagve, mayor Chanchala Kodre, deputy mayor Bandu Gaikwad and others. Corporator Surekha Kavde, Prakash Mantri, Mangala Mantri and others were also present on the occasion.Kadam said that he would meet Chief Minister to sort the issue out and also bring this demand to the notice of NCP president and union minister Sharad Pawar. He said that the railway over-bridge would ease out traffic at Ghorpadi. He promised to do his best to resolve the issue.Meanwhile, BJP-Shiv Sena-RPI and Shetkari Sanghatana mega-alliance candidate Anil Shirole also took out a ‘padyatra’ from Parvati assembly segment on Friday morning. He visited Maharshinagar, Gultekadi industrial area, Gultekadi Market Yard, Dr Ambedkara Nagar Colony. Local corporator Manisha Chorbele, Srinath Bhimale, Sunil Kamble, Shiv Sena group leader in PMC Ashok Harnawal accompanied him.
