Pune: After Kondhwa residents, it was Koregaon Park residents’ turn to face the power cuts as two days back, electricity went off for more than 10 hours and as per the residents, the officials of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) could not trace the fault for long time.
According to the MSEDCL, as the digging of some roads in Koregaon Park was underway by the PMC, a high tension wire carrying power supply got damaged which resulted into power cuts.
Yogesh Pingale, a resident, said that on Monday, the power supply suddenly went off in the morning. After repeated attempts, somehow they managed to approach the MSEDCL officials. But it too long for them to rectify the error.
With the temperature already soaring, residents had a tough time without power. Also, students were affected by the sudden power cuts as it is exam time. An MSEDCL official said that PMC was undertaking some construction work of the roads and while digging the road, a high tension wire got damaged and power supply got disconnected.
