History sheeter stabbed to death at Upper Indiranagar

He had 14 cases filed against him; assailant unidentified

A 35-year-old history sheeter’s body was found lying in a pool of blood at Upper Indiranagar on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Dinesh Tupe (35) from Upper Indiranagar.

The crime took place on Thursday at 4.30 pm. A case of murder has been registered with Bibvewadi police station against an unidentified person.

Assistant police inspector Bhramananda Naikwadi, who is investigating the case, said, “Tupe was on his way to join a group of persons with whom he took drugs. At Khadkiwasti, an unidentified person hiding in a nearby house pounced on Tupe and started stabbing him. There are four stab marks over his body. He was rushed to hospital but declared dead. Tupe has a criminal past and has 14 offences registered against him besides three cases of attempted murder, rioting and dacoity.”
