Hinjewadi: Man arrested for abetting suicide of a 19 year old girl

The Hinjewadi police has arrested a 23 year old person under charges of abetment to suicide of a 19 year old girl. Police said that the girl had consumed a pesticide as the arrested person was harassing her and used to force her for marriage. Moreover, when the girl refused his proposal, the person threatened the girl that he would defame her. Following which, the girl taken extreme step.

The arrested person has been identified as Swapnil Kailas Kimbhar (23) of Kasarsai village in Mulshi taluka in this regard.

According to the police, the girl and Kumbhar are residents of the same village. Kumbhar used to like the girl and had proposed her several occasions, however, the girl never accepted the proposal. Thus, Kumbhar started harassing her. On February 6, Kumbhar had called the girl to meet him and again proposed her to get marry with him. When the girl refused the proposal, Kumbhar threatened that he would not allow her to get marry with anyone. The girl got scared, came home and consumed pesticide which was kept in the house. Later, she was rushed to a private hospital but died on Sunday.
