Heritage week in Pune begins with a healthy note

The Pune Heritage Festival commenced to mark the significance of the city's heritage on April 13. An initiative of Pune Virasat, the event started with 'Spice it Up!’ , a culinary workshop at the Phule Mandai made out door cooking exciting and took place between 9-11am. Later in the day Modi script workshop named 'Modi Jagachi Olakh' taught people how the forgotten script was written. In the evening, Shaniwar Wada and Lal Mahal walk was conducted to provide a glimpse into the city's history and a Nature Walk Outdoors organised 'Tree Walk' at Kamla Nehru Park in the evening which aimed to emphasise the importance of nature. Finally, Kathak Nrityasandhya by Kalarthee troupe marked a colourful conclusion to the inaugural day of the week-long event.

Day 2 attractions:
-Intach Cantonement Heritage Walk at Shivaji market (8 am-10.30 am)
-Tree Walk at Alice Garden, Pune University (7 am-9 am)
-Maharashtrian Folk Dance at Vishrambaug Wada (9 am-11 am)
-Street Design for Heritage Precinct at Vishrambaug Wada (4pm- 8 pm)
-Shaniwar Wada and Lal Mehal walk at Delhi Darwaja (4.30pm - 6 pm)
-Intach Khann workshop at Warsa, Shaniwar Wada (4 pm - 7 pm)
-Ishachintan bharatnatyam performance at Omkareshwar Temple (6.30 pm- 8 pm)
