Eight-year-old Manasi Bansode, who got her left leg fractured after a van from chief minister Prithviraj Chavan’s convoy brushed her at Balgandharva Auditorium on October 25, got discharged from the Sancheti Hospital on November 1. All the medical expenses will be paid by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the hospital sources said on Sunday.
Manasi is the daughter of a woman who runs a juice stall at the auditorium. She was playing on the premises of the auditorium when she was hit by a van from the convoy. Chavan was at the Balgandharva Auditorium for a function on October 25.
“Manasi got discharged from the hospital on Friday and we have been told by the hospital authorities that the entire medical bill would be paid by PMC,” said her father Shriram Bansode.
While talking to dna, Dr Parag Sancheti confirmed that they have given discharge to Manasi and they have received a letter from PMC that they would be paying the medical bill. The moment Chavan came to know about the incident, he met Manasi and his father at the VIP room of the auditorium and assured to bear all the medical expenses. Manasi was admitted to the hospital on October 27, after dna reported that the family of Manasi had no money to take proper care of her, and that she was left in the lurch by the authorities.
