Pune: Citizens can now heave a sigh of relief as 60 per cent of the Akola - Aurangabad Electrical Power Grid work is completed and the remaining would be completed soon. Around 450 officials and workers of the State Electricity Board are working tirelessly to complete the project at the earliest. This project is going to increase the production capacity of the plant from 1000 Mega Watts to 2000 Mega Watts which would help to cater the increasing demand of electricity in the state.
When the wok was in progress there were power cuts observed in many areas of the city for 2 to 3 hours at a stretch. Though these power cuts were very less on Sunday and were witnessed in only a few areas of the city. As most of the work is complete now, the citizens will not have to stay without electricity for long hours anymore. puneinbox@dnaindia.net
