Pune: BJP state unit president Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday announced a separate budget for agriculture if the BJP led mega-alliance government came to power in state.
He was addressing the state-level farmer's rally at Daund on Sunday organized by Kisan Morcha of the party. He said that drip irrigation efficiency a whole would be raised.
Criticizing Congress-NCP Democratic Front Government, he said that despite a loan waiver worth Rs70 thousand crore by UPA government, only the political leaders benefited and the poor farmers had to resort to suicides. He said that after this special package, NCP leaders became richer and poor farmers committed suicides since none of the special packages actually reached them.
Fadnavis pointed out that Modi Government, soon after coming to power, has decided to undertake agriculture related work through the National Rural Guarantee Scheme and it would not only provide employment opportunities but also increase productivity in agriculture and BJP workers need to convey this to the electorate during the ensuing elections.
The Kisan Morcha national general secretary P Sugun Rao, Maharashtra in-charge Omprakashh Yadav, Kisan Morcha state president Bhai Dnyanoba Munde, convener of the state-level convention and state unit vice-president Vasudev Kale and BJP district unit president Namdev Takavane were present on the dais.
