For Indians to witness and experience snow, is a rarity, barring those who have the privilege of living in North India. In an attempt to make this experience available to one and all, Pan India Paryatan Pvt Ltd (PIPPL), creators of India’s largest amusement park, Essel World and Water Kingdom reopened ‘Essel World Freeze at Inorbit Mall, Pune, on Saturday.

Freeze was launched last year but had to be shut down for a few months when a major fire broke out at the mall, earlier this year. The newly opened Essel World Freeze is a complete ice-filled experience (with a temperature of -4 degree Celsius) comprising three elements---an Ice Skating Rink, Snow Zone and Lounge.

Speaking about the new Freeze at length, Bhushan Motani, head, Sales & Marketing, said, “We have pepped it up a little by creating a theme around it as against the plain walls that once stood. Also the skating floor is more even, one that will ensure a smooth skating experience to everyone.”

There are talks of a similar project coming up in Mumbai and in Pune in the near future. The entire star cast of the Marathi movie, Popat, was present to promote their movie. Throwing snowballs at each other, they thoroughly enjoyed the cold tingle of the frosty air.

“This was a splendid experience. I had only seen something like this in Dubai but had never experienced it. Just the fact that we are getting to experience this in India, that too in Pune, is a perfect sign that the world is coming closer,” Atul Kulkarni said, before signing off.
