Elderly couple robbed of booty worth Rs 6.13L

Pune: Now, the Ac coaches in the trains are also not safe. An elderly couple travelling from Coimbatore-Kurla Express got a rude shock after they found their diamond and cash stolen from the locked bag. The government railway police added more to their woes by making them wait for five long hours to lodge the complain.
The victim Prakash Kothari (67), a Bangalore-based businessman, lodged a complaint against unidentified person with GRP and now, Wanowrie police are investigating the case. The incident took place between April 26 and 27 in Coimbatore-Kurla Express in Mumbai bound train.Recalling the incident, Kothari said, “I was travelling with my wife from Bangalore to Pune to meet our daughter and attend a marriage in the city. On April 27, we reached our daughter’s house around 1 pm at Wanowrie only to find that my wife’s diamond and gold ornaments worth Rs6.13 lakh and Rs3,000 cash missing.”
He went on, “We rushed to the GRP police and complaint about the thief. But they were questioning us about where exactly the incident took place and made us wait for five hours. I lost my patience and called up the city police control room and then the GRP police registered our case.”
B N Kale, inspector in-charge of Wanowrie police station said, “Kothari had called up the Pune city police control room and alerted us. But the case falls under GRP police so we had directed them to lodged the case. But, now the GRP police have again transferred the case to us. 
The theft has been done by an expert person as despite the bag was locked, the thief had manage to steal the goods from it by unchaining the bag zip from other end of the bag edge.”
