Elderly couple found murdered near Alandi

Cops suspect attack by dacoits.

An elderly couple was found murdered in a nala at Chimbli village near Alandi on Friday morning.

The police suspect that dacoits might have killed them in order to loot their house. However, the rural police are also probing a property angle in the case.

The incident came to light on Friday morning when the villagers spotted two bodies in the nala. A police team from Alandi rushed to spot and did a panchanama.

The Alandi police have identified the deceased as Rajhans Sheshrao Shinde (70) and his wife Laxmibai (62). The couple stayed alone in a two-room house on their farm in the village.

Additional superintendent of police of Pune (rural), Vijaykumar Magar told dna that the dacoits had searched the entire house and articles were found scattered about in the house. It is not known, what the dacoits looted from the house.

The woman’s gold chain was found broken in the house. The police also recovered a few liquor bottles from the spot. They said the suspects killed the couple with sharp-edged weapons and  dumped their bodies in the nala.
