Now farmers staying in remote villages will be able to carry out financial transactions and use banking facilities on their doorstep. City-based construction group DSK has launched a multifunctional portable device called Mobiliz which can be used by the banking sector to simplify the monitory transaction process, especially for people staying in rural parts of the country.
Mobiliz can be operated on electricity, battery and even solar power.

The product has been designed and produced by DSK Group and they have invested Rs50 crore on the development of this computing device. National Innovation Foundation chairman RA Mashelkar launched Mobiliz in Pune on Friday. DSK Group foundation chairman and managing director DS Kulkarni, Hemanti Kulkarni and Shirish Kulkarni were present.

DS Kulkarni said, “It is a totally Indian innovation where the design and mould is developed by DSK digital technologies. The product was developed in 2012 but we wanted it to pass all the tests before dedicating it to the nation.”

Mobiliz is the brainchild of Hemanti Kulkarni, wife of DS Kulkarni. She said, “I wanted to take this technology to the farmer. After Mobiliz was developed last year, we entered into an agreement with Reserve Bank of India to help banks to open bank accounts of farmers in rural sector and I am happy that we managed to open 50,000 accounts in Ahmednagar district with the help of Mobiliz.”

DSK digital technologies has already applied for a patent of the product. DS Kulkarni said, “We are planning to invest Rs50 crore more as working capital this year. We will be investing around Rs200 crore for its production in the next five years and are expecting a turnover of Rs500 crore. We are planning to produce nearly 20,000 pieces of Mobiliz and are expecting to touch nearly one lakh pieces after five years. The present price of Mobiliz is Rs22,000, but with increase in production we are aiming to bring that down to Rs12,000.”
