Make sure you have your day free of other engagements and appointments on Friday. The first-ever Pune International Literary Fest (PILF) has brought together a range of readings, talks, debates, workshops and interactive activities at MIT College, Kothrud in media association with dna. To be inaugurated by actor-director Sachin Pilgaonkar at noon, the three-day fest has sessions for a variety of audience. Kick-starting it, Pilgaonkar will talk about his biography, journey as an actor and director and experiences. Here’s what to expect in the three days of literary madness.

First session starting at 2.30pm will include

Marathi Matters
Sachin Pilgaonkar will have an informal chat with Sameeran Walvekar, director, EMRC on what made him write his autobiography and more

From books to scripts
Siddhartha M Jain, Kanika Dhillon and Amit Behl will discuss the fine craft of marrying high-concept novels with high-concept films at B Hall

Marathi, today and tomorrow
Chronicling the history of Marathi literature and speaking about
its popularity will be Dr Keshav Sathaye with Sanjay Joshi and Bhanu Kale on the overall demand and popularity of Marathi non-fiction writing at C Hall

Tales unfold
Author Hussain Zaidi will spill the secrets of the underworld from his best-selling tale from Dongri to Dubai to Khushwant Singh Ahluwaliaa, a well-known political biographer who uncovers the undercurrents that rule our political landscape at V Hall

An energetic, lively journalists’ debate where Akash Banerjee AVP Radio Mirchi, and Dileep Padgaonkar debate, discuss and delve into the all that goes into ‘Making News and Breaking
News’ at B Hall

Body Beautiful
Corina Manuel, western region editor, Femina, gets Abhishek Sharma, personal trainer to the stars and Dr Santhanam of
