DES Law College crowned champs

The Deccan Education Society’s (DES) Law College were declared the overall winners at the recently held Sports and Dance Meet (SDM) 2013.

The event was held at various venues in the city and was organised by the National Institute of Event Management (NIEM).

Along with the SDM meet, NIEM had also held the Event Manager of the Year (EMY) Awards 2013.
Kashmira Behere and Mohnish Sharma from Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce won the first prize at the event.

Students from various colleges across the city
registered for the event. This is the seventh year of the EMY awards and second year of SDM.

“Apart from organising the event, our students had also showcased their talent in various sports events.
Being an in-house event, the students had put lot of hard work,” said Karna Upadhyay, centre head, NIEM.

Budding event managers from various colleges were rewarded for organising work at the college level. Sports events like tennis, football, basketball, mini-cricket, badminton, table tennis, carrom, chess and other sports were organised.
