It is not only the candidates who are reaching out to people for election campaign, but some NGOs are also reaching out to citizens, urging them to cast their valuable votes. Parivartan is one such NGO, which has decided to create awareness among IT professionals wherein they are appealing IT companies to circulate voters' awareness initiative on their internal systems.

Parivartan, which is helping the Election Commission in creating awareness among citizens, has recently tied up with Software Exporters Association of Pune (SEAP) to reach out to more IT companies in Pune.

Aniket Mundada, one of the members of Parivartan told dna, "There are nearly two lakh voters who are from IT sector. During our voters' awareness campaign, we realised that we can create awareness among IT professionals through their companies and therefore, we rope in SEAP. Now with the help of SEAP, we are contacting IT companies to help us in creating awareness amongst people in IT sector."

The NGO has sent mails to human resource managers of various companies, suggesting them to use their internal portal in creating voters awareness. "Every company has an internal portal and intranet where all the employees regularly visit. The HR companies keep a theme of any upcoming event on that portal like Diwali, Christmas or a New Year. Similarly, we have requested the companies to keep a theme of election till April 17 so that it will keep reminding employees about the elections and the voting day," Aniket added.

Some IT companies have also started responding to the NGO's request and they have started using their portal in creating awareness among their employees. Bitwise solutions is one such company at Senapati Bapat road, which has already started using its internal communication system where they are making their employees aware of their voting rights.

"Apart from SEAP, we are also roping in Mahratta Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture and Industries (MCCIA) to reach out to more such companies," Aniket said.
