Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader LK Advani on Friday said corruption was the biggest issue before the political field.
He was speaking at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, where he was for the entire day and participated in revered Dada JP Vaswani’s 95th birthday celebrations. Both Dada Vaswani and Advani addressed the gathering in Sindhi and English. Three books titled `India Awake’, `We - An Achiever’ and `Highway to Happiness’ penned by Dada Vaswani were released at the function.
Describing corruption as the most discussed issue in the last three years in the political field, Advani said the reason was that the ego of a politician inflates after assuming any political office. He said this results in a sense of being powerful, which leads to a change in behaviour. The person thinks he can do anything as per his wish and no one can touch him.
Referring to Chanda Kochar, the chief guest at the Vaswani Mission at the function on Friday morning, Advani said, Kochar is an expert in the field of banking, economics and finance and these are the fields where there are problems leading to corruption in politics and government.
Advani said often it is considered that a student having high intelligence quotient (IQ) is best, but emotional quotient (EQ) also has to be there which can balance IQ. He said IQ and EQ together can make a person balanced, but spiritual quotient (SQ) makes a man enlightened. Advani said teachings of Dada Vaswani continuously enriched the country with SQ and were the answer for the problem of corruption.
He said that if at all India wanted its place in the league of nations, it could be only through following the teachings of Dada Vaswani, which can instill spiritual quotient and enlighten the entire country.
Dada Vaswani, while blessing Advani, said the country needs men and women of character who will not misuse their political position but should use it in the spirit of humility. He said Advani was a man of character and can lead the country. Vaswani said it was his parents who taught him to love all religions.
