Pune: As the rift between Congress and NCP in Konkan continues to make news, workers across both parties went to loggerheads in Bibwewadi, following which Congress’ party office was ransacked on Monday evening.
After the incident, the party office has been closed, but no complaints have been lodged in the Bibwewadi police station. According to local residents, workers of both parties had gathered at the office where they had some argument over issues regarding campaigning for Vishwajeet Kadam. The argument took ugly turn as both the party workers from both sides attacked each other.
Senior police inspector Rajendra Todkar of Bibwewadi police station said, “No complaint has been filed. The office did not have the required permissions and the election commission staff had asked to close the office.”
