But for 10 orphaned girls in the city, it is going to be a life-changing experience, with city-based non-government organisation Maitri Yuva Foundation donating them computers and offering computer education for the next one year.
A member of Maitri Yuva Foundation Sanket Deshpande said, “It is always that the underprivileged are forgotten and not considered eligible for many of the necessities that children from well-off families enjoy. We aim to give a helping hand to the deprived children.’’
On the occasion of Vat Pournima, intend to empower these girls, he added. The foundation is not only providing them computers but will also teach them how to use them.
‘’At present, we have managed to gather five computers and members from our foundation will teach the young girls. There would be classes thrice a week on varying computer-related topics,” Deshpande said. The girls aged between six and 17 years will benefit from this novel initiative.
