Pune: A month after the Bombay High Court transferred the murder probe of anti-superstition activist Dr Narendra Dabohlkar to CBI, a special Mumbai crime branch squad inspected the spot of murder and also met the city police officer who was investigating the murder. Later they visited the Deccan Gymkhana police station where the murder case was reported.

Dr Dabohlkar was shot to death by two unidentified motorcycle-borne persons at Omkareshwar bridge on August 20, 2013. The incident took place when Dabohlkar was on his way to a morning walk around 7 am. CBI has also lodged a fresh First Information Report against an unidentified person in Mumbai.
