Pune: Senior Indian Defence Estates Services (IDES) officer Sanjeev Kumar took office as chief executive officer (CEO) of the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) on Tuesday.
He took over charge from the Khadki Cantonment Board CEO KJS Chauhan, who had been given additional charge of the PCB.Prior to this appointment, Kumar was CEO of the Delhi Cantonment Board (DCB). Kumar interacted with section heads and officials of the board and was appraised about the different facilities of the board like the hospital. Kumar shared some of the work he had done as the DCB CEO including starting of smart classes in the schools managed by the DCB.
“We also started checking medicines procured by the hospital at different labs of the Union government,” he said.
In a chequered career spanning 18 years, Kumar has also been the CEO of the Danapur, Cannannore and the Morar cantonment boards. He said he will ensure that good practices are adopted by the PCB. He added that it would be beneficial for all three cantonment boards in the district—Pune, Khadki and Dehu Road—to work jointly.
