Bikers thrash up MaharashtraTransport (ST) driver

The driver of a State Transport (ST) bus was thrashed up by two motorcyclists at Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk on Tuesday after the bus driver allegedly overtook them on Fergusson College (FC) Road. One of them has been arrested after the ST driver lodged a complaint with the Shivajinagar police station.

The arrested man has been identified as Santosh Koli (45) of Sinhgad Road while his associate Raviraj Bolade (49) of Katraj is yet to be nabbed.

According to the police, Koli and Bolade were passing by Vaishali Hotel on FC Road when the bus driver allegedly overtook them from a close distance.

Infuriated, the duo chased the bus and intercepted it at Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk and manhandled the driver.

Assistant police inspector PR Waghmare said, “The duo halted the bus for one hour causing inconvenience to the passengers who were travelling in the Mumbai-bound bus.”
