The drive has been started with an aim to discourage two-wheeler riders performing stunts and driving at high speed.

The Pune Bikers Group claimed that many of these bikers are young and perform stunts for money. A member of the Pune Bikers Group Sangram Devkar said, “Most of the college students tend to imitate movie stars who perform stunts in groups. They perform such stunts over the weekend, mostly after midnight.”

The city traffic department is gearing up to catch hold of these riders who play such dangerous games for the sake of fun.

“We are going to intensify the drive in the coming days, as this is only how we can curb the rising number of road mishaps in the city. We have identified the areas where we will have surprise check so that we can catch hold of these people,” Pandhare added.
