Two army personnel from Dehu Road Army Station forcibly took the driver of a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSTRC) bus going from Pune to Dadar to their military station on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred after their vehicle was hit by the bus on Dehu Road. However, the driver, Somnath Atkare, was released after the army men were reprimanded by senior officers.

The Pimpri police said the MSRTC bus was turning at Morwadi Chowk. Atkare had to suddenly apply brakes after a car came in the way. As a result, the military truck, which was behind, hit the bus.

The army men abused Atkare and forcibly took him to the military station.

Meanwhile a passenger called up the police. Pimpri police took up the issue with army officers.

Atkare was released after more than two hours.

Police inspector BB Mudiraj said no official complaint was registered.
