The Lonavla police have asked for the video recording of the Bigg Boss episode in which a contestant, Ajaz Khan, allegedly called Gujarat chief minister a ‘chor’ (thief). They have sent a letter to this effect to the production company under whose banner the show  is run. Primary investigations by the Lonavla police, however, revealed that the video, which has been uploaded on You Tube, could have been morphed.

Speaking to dna, senior police inspector Vishnu Pawar of Lonavla city police said, “The controversial video has been uploaded on You Tube by unidentified persons. The video clearly shows that Khan has made statement against Modi. We have asked them to provide the video recording of that episode.”

Pawar claimed that after getting the video from the authorities, they would be able to compare it with the one on  You Tube. “We have spoken to the authorities about this and they told us that no such statement made by Ajaz. However, we can’t rule out the possibility until we verify it,” Pawar added.

According to the police, Ajaz made the comment when he was in conversation with other housemates.

The channel deleted the scene before it was telecast to avoid any problem. After making the statement, the Bigg Boss 7 house was surrounded by BJP supporters who protested against Khan and his comment against Modi. A case has been filed against Khan by BJP MLA Gopal Shetty.

Immediately after Gauhar Khan was crowned Bigg Boss winner of the season, the Lonavla city police recorded statements of the six contestants in Armaan Kohli and Sofia Hayat case. Hayat had registered an FIR against Kohli for sexual harassment, abusing and manhandling her during a task at the Bigg Boss 7 house and Kohli was arrested.

Speaking to dna, senior police inspector Vishnu Pawar of Lonavla city police said,
“We have recorded statements of all contestants and they have not changed their statements which they had given us earlier,” he said.
