50-yr-old sends love letter to std X student

A 50-year-old school teacher sent an eight-page love letter to his 15-year-old student and even offered her Rs5,000 cash to marry him, the Indapur police said. They have booked the high school teacher for allegedly molesting 10th standard girl at the school at Bhigwan in Indapur taluka, about 100 km from Pune. 

The booked teacher has been identified as Bhanudas Rama Shingade is a resident of Sehlgaon village in Indapur Taluka. The victim’s father, who is also a teacher, had lodged a complaint in this regard with the Indapur police on Thursday.

According to the police, Shingade teaches Maths to tenth standard class. He had given assignments to students a few days ago asking them to submit their notebooks on December 3. Accordingly, the students had completed their assignments and submitted their notebooks. 

“Shingade returned the students’ notebooks on December 5. 

However, he gave this girl her notebook separately as he had kept Rs5,000 and an eight-page love letter written in Hindi in the notebook. He asked her burn the letters after reading,” assistant police inspector Sunil Topane of Walchandnagar police station told dna.

The incident came to light when the victim informed this to the school principal on December 5. Taking cognizance of the incident, the school authorities had called a meeting and suspended Shingade for his act.

Topane said that the police immediately formed two separate teams to investigate the matter. “We have also taken a meeting with student’s parents about the incident and assured them that such incident would not occur in future,” he added.
