25 year old Engineer attempts to spoil robbery; gets stabbed to death in Wagholi

Barely two days after a software techie who recently came to the city for a job was found murdered in Hinjewadi area, yet another engineer's murder has been reported in the city. 
The deceased, 25-year-old Abhishek Rai hailing from Bhopal was found murdered in his rented flat at Golden Society on Wagholi Kesnand road. Rai is mechanic engineer.
Monday was suposed to be Rai's first day at work at Shoei Finishing Private Limited, said his friends. A case of murder has been registered with Lonikhand police station against unidentified persons by deceased's roommate Siddharth Jain. 
Chandrakant Jadhav, senior police inspector at Lonikand police station said that the incident took place between 3 am to 3.20 am in the wee hours of Sunday morning. "Prima facie it appears that he was stabbed by robbers. We have recorded statements of neighbours and room mates who saw the robbers fleeing from the building. Further investigations are going on."
Jadhav added that Rai was taken by his room mate and neighbours to Lifeline hospital from where he was shifted to Ruby Hall Clinic by ambulance to control bleeding and better facilities but he died while receiving treatment. "Further investigations are going on, we have recorded statements of his roommate and neighbours," added Jadhav.
Police said that Rai has an elder sister who lives in Pune and was handed over his body following autopsy examination to be taken to his hometown for cremation
